Recently, the founders of X!PROMOS launched an Instant X!pertise series of resources designed to help marketers at all levels become better educated about how to use promotional tools to drive sales. This week we are releasing our Winter 2015 report.  And earlier today, we went to Periscope to talk about three of the martech tactics that we think will really move the needle.

The technology, which doesn’t require downloading an app, uses the same secure banking technology used to photograph checks as the means to validate a retail receipt.

How it works:

  • Consumers simply visit a custom website (or text) from their phone, tablet, or desktop to verify their purchase.
  • Then, by sharing contact information, their reward is on its way (digital rewards can be delivered immediately).
  • Once in the program, marketers can use additional prompts to engage customers via social media, or offer loyalty rewards to encourage up-sells and cross-sells.
  • Rich data analytics allow marketers to create remarketing offers, funnels, and other engagement for all levels of participants.

We see this execution as a must-do for any marketer currently executing mail-in programs.


Periscope: Get on it now.  Be an early adopter.

The third tactic is Periscope.  It’s the fastest  growing social media app of all time, yet less than 1% of the users actually “scope”.  As such, there’s a huge opportunity for marketers to become the early adopters.  There are a plethora of great uses, from first look videos, to onsite shots at sponsored events and trade shows.
